Consulting Relationships and Affiliations

I have been a community mental health professional for some two decades, and maintain a research affiliation with the Jefferson School of Population Health (JSPH) as part of my lifetime commitment to improving behavioral health care for populations. JSPH core mission is to prepare leaders with global vision to develop, implement, and evaluate health policies and systems that improve the health of populations. While a staff member at JSPH, I played a key role in effecting policy change in the federal Medicare program, paving the way for recognition of Complicated Grief as a treatable disorder. (See my page on grief counseling.)I also serve in the community, providing consulting services to the Mental Health Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania (MHASP), a nonprofit citizen's organization that develops, supports and promotes innovative education and advocacy programs. MHASP develops, maintains, and promotes innovative education and advocacy programs and mental health services in the five counties of Southeastern Pennsylvania.

I am a member of the Pennsylvania Society for Clinical Social Work and the National Association of Social Workers, Pennsylvania Chapter.
