Expertise, Best Practices, Quality Improvement

My specialties include counseling people suffering from post-traumatic stress, depression, and and anxiety. I am trained to work with survivors of childhood or adult trauma, and support recovery with somatic (body awareness) therapies. I counsel people with stress from providing care to a loved one with a chronic illness or disability. I also support individuals and families processing grief.

I have served as a mental health professional in several capacities for more than two decades, moving my focus in recent years from policy and systems reform to clinical, client-centered work. I have been a licensed psychotherapist since 2008.

I have received several honors for my work. I am a former member of the Mental Health Advisory Board of the Disability Rights Network of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Society for Clinical Social Work.

I maintain affiliations with several professional organizations to support ongoing training in best practices and continuous quality improvement. They include the International EMDR Association, the International Association for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, the Pennsylvania Society for Clinical Social Work, and the National Association of Clinical Social Workers.

I maintain an active meditation practice, and employ mindfulness-awareness techniques with many of my clients. I received much of my meditation training at the Philadelphia Shambhala Center, an affiliate of Shambhala International.

I hold a Master's of Social Service Degree, awarded by the Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Pennsylvania License No. CW016999.
